1st place ORC Two Handed for W 36 HUBO
The 49th edition of the Delta Weekend ended on Sunday with ideal sailing conditions. For three days, a fleet of participants of nearly 80 sailing boats with more than 400 crew members enjoyed sun and wind and the salty Zeeland water.
On Friday there was a reasonable wind of 3 Beaufort, on Saturday the courses were shortened due to lack of sufficient wind. The closing on Sunday made up for 3 to 4 Bft with a westerly wind.
The Zeeland championship was at stake for the official competition classes (the ORC classes). It was also a day on which the final winners for many classes came out. The last day of the race changed a lot in the final classification, so that the Delta weekend remained exciting until the very end.
ORC Two handed classes
Because it is becoming increasingly difficult to assemble a complete crew of approximately 6 to 7 for three sailing days, many skippers in the ORC classes choose to sail with a small crew of two people.
Hubo: 1st place ORC Two Handed
In this ORC Two Handed class, the Hubo (Waarschip 36 WK), with skipper Erik van Vuuren of Jachtclub Scheveningen and Kees van Uffelen, became the undisputed winner with a big point lead at number two.
