Winter storage? Make sure your insurance is in order!
After a wonderful season on the water, your boat is safely stored in winter storage. At least; you assume that it is safely stored. But is that really the case? What if another boat accidentally bumps into yours? Is your boat sufficiently insured?
Store = own risk
As a boat owner you are careful with your boat. Even if it is in winter storage. In the unlikely event that something happens to your boat, the parking party will usually not reimburse these costs. In many cases, parking is at your own risk. Theft, damage or fire can then cost a lot if you are not properly insured yourself.
Boat insurance offers a solution
A boat insurance with hull cover reimburses the damage that occurs during the transport, hoisting and storage of your boat. There are different types of insurance, but not every insurance policy covers standard transport and winter storage. It is a good idea to check whether your insurance covers winter storage. If this is not the case, we advise you to upgrade your insurance.
